About Wood Burning Stoves...

Many people use stoves that rely on bottled fuel, adding weight to their packs and limiting their time in the bush to the extend of their fuel supply. Instead, we recommend wood burning stoves, no carrying fuel, no waste in empty fuel bottles, and almost limitless fuel. That means you can stay out as long as you need without worrying about your fuel supply, and the ash you leave behind enriches the soil. If mosquitoes are in the area, the smoke from a wood burner will help repel them. Then there's the emotional aspect, the sound and smell of a real crackling fire while you make your morning coffee.
Wood Stoves do have some downsides, soot on the stove and your pots, and a warm dinner depends on your ability to start a fire. For most uses we feel, the benefits far outweigh the detriments.
