Purchase Agreement, Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement
"Gear" used below refers to any products purchased from Green Leaf Gear, LLC. "GLG" used below refers to Green Leaf Gear, LLC
Purchase Agreement: Your purchase of Gear from Green Leaf Gear, LLC, regardless of method of purchase (phone, internet, fax, in person, mail) legally binds you and your heirs, assigns, transferees, and personal representatives as follows:
Release, Assumption of Risk, and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement When you purchase Gear from Green Leaf Gear, LLC, you represent that you are of legal age to purchase such Gear. You represent that the Gear purchased can be legally purchased and owned and possessed in your state, county and city of of your residence. You represent that you have no legal restrictions which prevent your legal purchase and/or ownership/possession of such Gear. By offering Gear for sale, Green Leaf Gear, LLC does not represent or warrant that any specific purchaser may legally purchase, own, or possess the Gear ordered. You are responsible for comforming to all International, Federal, State, County, and Local laws for the purchase, use and possession of all purchased Gear. If in doubt, check your local laws prior to ordering.
Outdoor activities such as backpacking and general bushcraft can be dangerous. Gear sold by Green Leaf Gear, LLC may also be dangerous if used improperly, carelessly, negligently, without skill or training, and/or illegally. When you purchase Gear from Green Leaf Gear, LLC you agree that you will use the Gear in a safe and legal manner, consistent with all applicable laws, recognized safety rules, and common sense. You agree that you will take such steps as may be reasonable and/or necessary by local law to keep the Gear out of the hands of minors, untrained users, and those who are otherwise incapable of using the Gear appropriately and/or in a legal manner.
When you purchase Gear from Green Leaf Gear, LLC:
you agree to assume all risks, physical, legal and otherwise, related to and/or arising from your ownership and/or use of the Gear
you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Green Leaf Gear, LLC from any and all claims brought by yourself or any person or entity against Green Leaf Gear, LLC related to and/or arising from your ownership and/or use of the Gear
Safe Checkout: Checking out with PayPal protects the customer by not sharing the customer's confidential financial information with the us (or any vendor for that matter). We never see it, therefore it is never stored in our records or databases and cannot be stolen by hackers from us, or through a data breach (such as what happened with Target Stores in 2013). In short, we never see and thus can never store your private payment/financial information.
When checking out online, you may use any form of payment supported by PayPal (Credit Card, eCheck, Bank Transfer, etc).
If paying us directly for a Special Order or if you prefer to not checkout online, we accept Checks or Money Orders.
Personal Checks (via Paypal or directly to us) will cause a delay in fulfilling your order due to time it takes for the bank to clear the check.
If paying in person at an event or show, we use PayPal credit card processing - again keeping your financial information safe.
When do we charge:
Payment is made at time your order is placed.
If invoiced, payment of the invoice is due as indicated by invoice.
Order Inspection Policy:
Customer Order Inspection: We inspect each item in a customer order immediately prior to packing it for shipping. This serves dual purposes;
It helps to ensure gear is ready to go when our customer receives it
It helps to reduce our overhead by reducing returns (which cost a significant amount to shops) thus helping to keep our prices low. We pass the lower prices to you, and we get lower overhead - it helps everyone involved.
Shipping Policy - Domestic USA
Preferred Carrier: United States Postal Service (USPS) Standard Service: USPS Priority Mail®; typically 1-3 day, insured and tracked. Alternate Shipping Service: If you wish to use a shipping service other than USPS, please contact us for a Quote/Invoice.
Postage: Approximately actual USPS Priority Mail cost (by Weight and Shipping Zone), plus 5% handling/packaging.
We are disappointed to see a practice of hiding profit in inflated shipping fees used by some online shops. We feel that practice is unethical.
Our goal for shipping costs is to cover our costs, while providing you a well protected shipment at a reasonable cost.
Your package shipping label will show the actual price paid to USPS, we do not hide that value on the label.
"Overpayment Refund Enabled" - Saving you shipping costs
On packages over 3lbs, we can often ship your package for a lower cost using Flat or Regional Rate packaging.
For overpayments greater than $2.00, we will issue you a Shipping Adjustment, returning funds to you via PayPal.
You do not need to take any action, this will happen automatically after your order ships.
Orders typically ship within 2 business days (M-F), many ship the same day as the order arrives.
If your order will not ship within 2 business days, you will be notified of the delay.
If a product regularly requires more than 2 business days to ship, this exception will be noted near the "Add to Cart" button on the Product Details Page to alert you to this known exception.
Once your package ships, USPS Priority Mail will deliver the package in 1-3 days depending on your location. USPS Priority Mail does not guarantee 2-3 day delivery. If you require alternate shipping arrangements, please let us know in comments.
Package Tracking and Insurance:
When your order ships, you will be sent an email with Tracking Number.
All orders are insured at no additional charge to you, unless stated otherwise.
All orders over $150 will ship Signature required (at no cost to you) due to value of the package.
Shipping Sharps (Sharps are bladed Tools such as Knives, Tomahawks, Machetes, etc):
Packages over $99 containing Sharps will generally ship Signature Required (at no cost to you).
Packages under $99 containing Sharps will generally ship as Hold for Pickup at your local Post Office.
Why? Safety. Packages delivered and left at the door or mailbox may be unattended and able to be picked up by a minor.
Shipping Fee not applied at checkout:
If the system fails to apply a shipping charge at time of checkout, we're sorry to tell you that doesn't mean free shipping. That just means the system lacks the ability to calculate shipping for your location.
A quote with invoice will be sent to you after checkout showing the shipping charge for your order. If acceptable, you can pay it and your order will ship. If unacceptable, you can simply cancel and we will refund your order in full.
Shipping Policy - International

Shipping Fees - Canada:
Final Canadian shipping charge will be actual USPS fee, plus $4.00 USD (to cover extra handling and declarations needed).
Our system applies an initial $35 estimate, if your final shipping charge is under $35 we will issue an Adjustment Refund, if additional shipping is needed we will issue an Adjustment Invoice.
Shipping Fees - Other Supported Nations
Final International shipping charge will be actual USPS fee, plus $4.99 USD (to cover extra handling and declarations needed).
For supported nations, our system will apply an initial ESTIMATE of $35.
Over/Under-Payment Adjustment: If your final shipping charge is less than the initial estimate, we will issue you a Shipping Adjustment Refund, if your final shipping charge is more than the initial estimate, we will send you a Shipping Adjustment Quote/Invoice (you can decline for a full refund, or pay to complete your order).
International Minimum Order:
Minimum Order is $99.00 USD.
We reserve the right to compete, or cancel orders below that minimum.
Customs Fees, Brokerage Fees, Taxes from your Country:
All Customs and/or Brokerage charges, if any, are the sole responsibility of the Customer, and are not the responsibility of GLG
All applicable taxes, if any, such as sales tax, are the sole responsibility of the Customer, and are not the responsibility of GLG.
International Shipping Risks and Acceptance:
Once your package is received by your Country's Custom's Office, we have no way to know how long it will take to clear Customs, no way to guarantee it will clear Customs and no way to track the package after Customs.
For those reasons, we must consider the package as "DELIVERED to Customer and ACCEPTED by Customer" at time it is accepted for inspection at your country's Customs Office.
By ordering with us as an International Customer, you accept these risks and agree to not hold Green Leaf Gear, LLC responsible should your package fail to be delivered for any reason once we have shipped it.
Return Policy: (excluding Special Orders)
Gear may be returned within 14 days of receiving the order (some exceptions apply, see below).
Gear must Unused/New, in unopened original packaging with all tags intact.
A Restocking and Inspection fee of 20% of the item's price will be applied to returns, with a $15 minimum.
Shipping and Handling fees are not refunded.
If item was purchased with free shipping and returned, the actual shipping amount as printed on your shipping label (without markup) will be deducted from the refund.
Customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is a result of error by GLG.
Customer is responsible for return until it is received by GLG - proper packaging and insurance is suggested (see details below)
NOTE: Returns cost significant amounts. Most retail shops recoup that cost by spreading it over and embedding it into the pricing of their products, so the customers who do not return products end up paying for those who do. Is that fair? We operate differently, we prefer to offer our customers the lowest price possible, so we cover the costs associated with returns only at the time of a return - that's why we have the restocking fee. This approach allows lower pricing for over 99% of our customers - we think most of our customers prefer the lower pricing.
Used Fire Starters (Used means signs of striking the rod or scraping of magnesium or other visible marks.
Used Sharps (Knives or other Edged Tools, Details below)
Special Orders, unless exception was made between Customer and GLG prior to order placement.
Clearance Items (unless marked as returnable).
Returning "Sharps" (Knives and other Edged Tools): All knives and edged tools are collectively referred to as "Sharps".
Sharps must be in New, unused and unsharpened (unmodified factory edge) condition in order to be returned.
Sharps showing signs of use will not be accepted, and will be returned to buyer at buyer's expense. Signs of use include marks on the blade, nicks, sharpening, scratches or any visible wear on the blade or coatings, sheath, handle or included accessories.
All sharps returned incur a 20% inspection/restocking fee with a $20 minimum (sharps under $20 have no minimum).
NOTE: Returns cost money to the seller. The typical retail model is to absorb this expense into the price of other products so that the expense of returns is paid for by customers who do not return their goods. We choose to keep our prices as low as possible for our customers, and not elevate prices for this need. Instead, we keep the expense only where it in incurred, and not pass it along to other customers. This is why we have this charge on returned Sharps.
Step 1: Contact us to let us know you need to make a return, and why Step 2: Pack and Ship Package
Returned packages must be sent via carrier with tracking, and packed sufficiently to protect the gear.
We strongly recommend the package be insured against loss as we cannot honor your refund if the package is lost in transit. Customer is responsible for return shipping.
Step 3: Return Inspection
All returned gear is inspected prior to issuing a refund.
This inspection ensures that the gear matches the condition which it was originally sent in.
Gear must be in original packaging, with all accessories included. Gear and original packaging must be in new, clean and resalable condition. If there is an issue, we will contact the customer to discuss.
Step 4: Refund
We will issue a refund, minus the original shipping charges and inspection/restocking fee, via PayPal.
This allows the customer to access the funds within minutes of the refund being issued.
Special Order Cancellation & Returns
What is a Special Order:
Products not listed in our online store, usually directly invoiced. (ie. ordered outside the store checkout system).
Products labeled as a Special Order.
Special Order Cancellation Prior to order Shipping:
Any Special Order cancelled after being paid, which is cancelled prior to shipping incurs a 20% cancellation fee.
The cancellation fee is to cover costs incurred by Green Leaf Gear, LLC for the acquisition of the items to fulfill the Special Order. These costs are incurred immediately after customer payment in order to obtain the items to fulfill the Special Order Request. If the Special Order is cancelled, the costs to Green Leaf Gear, LLC remain. The cancellation fee is to cover these costs.
Rarely do people cancel a Special Order, so we do not absorb cancellation fees into our product pricing, thus allowing lower prices for our customers. The 20% charge listed covers those cancelation costs only when a cancellation occurs, not affecting over 99.9% of our customers.
Returning Special Returns:
If the Special Order is listed as a product on our website, it is returnable using our standard return policy above.
If the Special Order is not listed as a product on our website, it is not returnable - unless agreed to in advance with GLG.
Discount Codes Coupons:
GLG may issue Discount Coupon Codes for promotions or sales. Only one discount code can be used per order, they cannot be combined. Discount Codes cannot be redeemed for cash. Discount Codes must be entered by the customer during checkout, into the "Coupon" field. The checkout system applies discount codes when entered to qualifying orders, per the terms of the code entered.
Warranty and Guarantee
We make no guarantee or warranty about the gear we sell. All gear is New unless otherwise specified and carries the manufacturer warranty, see individual manufacturer's websites to review their warranty information. We make no guarantee that any gear will work in any given situation. Each outdoor situation is different, as are the skills and capabilities of the users. As such, we cannot guarantee function or performance in these situations.
Financial Data Security: Use of the PayPal secure financial infrastructure means that very little private or sensitive customer information is shared with us. We do not see your credit card or banking information, that is shared only with PayPal and never with us. Your payment actually goes to PayPal, and our payment comes from PayPal. This means that your information is kept private, the way it should be. This protects you the customer, and us the seller. This also means that we do not store your private financial information at any time.
Information Stored in our Records: For record keeping, we keep a record of purchases which include
Customer email address
Customer Phone Number (if given)
User Comments/Posts on our Blog and Facebook Pages: Comments left on our blog or facebook pages are public and available to all to see, so we recommend you do not divulge any private or sensitive information. We reserve the right to delete offensive comments, but whatever you post is open to the public and is your responsibility.
Sharing of Customer Data:
We do not sell or provide any of our customer data to other companies for marketing - ever.
In order to ship orders to the Customer, we share the Customer Name, Address and occasionally Email (for package tracking updates). For example, in order to create a USPS Shipping Label, we need to provide the USPS with the Customer's Name and Address.
If we are legally required to supply customer data by Court Order, Law Enforcement (with legal authorization) or other official agency, we are required to comply.
Typographical Error Policy:
Every effort is made to verify pricing and information provided on our website. Unlike many online shops, we do not use the manufacturer's provided description or photos (that you can see all over the web), we use our own in an effort to provide you with more information upon which to base your purchase decisions. In the event that a Green Leaf Gear, LLC product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, we reserve the right at our discretion to either honor or cancel the item(s) on the order at the incorrect price. If the order is cancelled for this reason, a full refund for the charges associated with that item shall be returned to you.

Green Leaf Gear, LLC respects copyright ownership, and makes every effort to not infringe anyone's copyright. All material contained on this site falls under one of the following categories: A) the material is copyrighted by us, B) the material is used under license, C) the material is used with the consent from the copyright owner. It is the policy of Green Leaf Gear, LLC to not use material which we do not have copyright or licensing/permission to use.
